The enhanced OC Riptide fan experience is achievable only through the hard work and dedication from our internship staff. Covering numerous departments from Scoring / Analytics to Game Day Operations to Live Stream Broadcast to Sports Information to Social Media, the OC Riptide interns are the engine that make game days smooth and enjoyable for fans in the stands and those watching games online.

Scoring & Analytics Team
Scoring & Analytics staff members are tasked with keeping and reporting the correct scoring and statistics to the California Collegiate League while also gleaning and interpreting analytical data to be used by Riptide coaches.

Jared Brecher – Scoring & Analytics
Jared is an incoming senior and is studying Sport Management at the University of Michigan. He grew up in Los Angeles and attended high school at Palisades Charter High School.
At Michigan he announces baseball games for WCBN Sport Radio and he writes for the Sport Business Association Journal. Jared hopes to one day work in the front office for a Major League Baseball team and he’s excited to gain experience in baseball analytics this summer with the OC Riptide.

Haylee Enriquez – Scoring & Analytics
Haylee Enriquez joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Baseball Analytics Staff as a senior at Arizona State University in pursuit of her bachelor’s degree in Business Data Analytics. Haylee is a Starbucks College Achievement Program (SCAP) recipient, where works at Starbucks part-time in order to receive 100% tuition reimbursement from ASU.
Haylee is looking forward to her first season working with OC Riptide Baseball, and hopes to expand her knowledge on sabermetrics and the game of baseball itself. She is from La Habra, California where she played softball for 14 years. Haylee’s career goal is to eventually work in the Sports Analytics department for a professional sports team here in Southern California.
In her free time, she likes to go on hikes with her six-month-old Husky, Koda. She also likes to go to the beach, spend time with her family, and look for new coffee shops with her boyfriend, Riley. Haylee is excited to spend her summer helping the 2022 OC Riptide team have a successful season while learning from Coach Brown and the Baseball Analytics department.

Chase Hwang – Scoring & Analytics
Chase Hwang joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Baseball Analytics Staff as a junior at Biola University. Chase is majoring in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics and Data Science and a minor in Computer Science. He is from Santa Clarita, California.
This past year Chase was a student manager for the Biola baseball team where he was able to work with their Rapsodo data and also score games on IScore. He also works on a sabermetric research team that developed the Quality of Pitch (QOP) pitching metric and is currently working as a research assistant on our work of Deception of Pitch (DOP) and Perry Husband’s Effective Velocity (EV).
Chase’s career goal is to be a data analyst or scientist for the MLB and this internship is the first step towards that goal as he will be able to gain experience with an organization and grow his network.
Chase was also an assistant baseball coach at Whittier Christian High School. He has played baseball since he was 5 years old and his love for the game has not dwindled even after he stopped playing competitively the summer before his second year of college. He also loves going snowboarding, playing video games, and spending time with family and friends.

Braxton Reynolds – Scoring & Analytics
Braxton Reynolds joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Analytics Staff as a senior majoring in Psychology at University of Pennsylvania. Through his position as President of the Penn Sports Analytics Group, he is fully immersed in the practical world of sports analytics and its benefits to coaching staffs. Braxton’s passion for the dissection and discussion of all things sports has manifested in a role writing for Lineups.com as an NBA analyst. He hopes to hone his skills with the Riptide and contribute to areas such as lineup analysis, player tendencies, and substitution trends.
Braxton is a native of Darien, Connecticut, where he grew up playing a variety of sports. Although he has never been to Oklahoma, Braxton is an avid Thunder fan. He first delved into the sports world through the National Student Leadership Conference and its Sports Management program. He then attended Wharton Moneyball Academy and learned the framework behind examining data in a sports context.

Team Equipment Managers
The Team Equipment Managers are tasked with ensuring all on-the-field equipment and uniforms are in proper working order and to ensure the players and coaches have all their equipment needs met.
Matt Smith – Volunteer Assistant Coach / Team Equipment Manager
Matt Smith is from Monterey, California and has played college baseball at the Division 1 level, Junior College level and now he currently plays at the NAIA level.
Matt Smith is a center fielder who graduated high school in 2016 with a scholarship to play baseball at UC Davis. His redshirt freshman year (2018) he made the most of his opportunities and hit .375 to finish the year.
After the season in 2018 he decided that UC Davis was not a good academic fit for him, and it was time for a change. Smith transferred to Folsom Lake College, considered one of the best junior college teams in Northern California.
Matt will be playing his last year of college eligibility next spring in Irvine at Westcliff University. Westcliff University’s home field is The Great Park, the same facility the OC Riptide plays its games. He is team captain of the Westcliff University team, and has had a long journey through college baseball up until this point.
Matt will graduate with his degree in Business Administration in the Spring of 2023 and hopes to give back to the game of baseball by coaching, and putting an emphasis on the mental side of baseball to any player who he encounters.

Ally Taylor – Team Equipment Manager
Ally Taylor joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 staff as a rising senior at Seton Hall University where she is studying Sports Management and Marketing. At Seton Hall, she is a student athlete on the softball team and apart of the Stillman School of Business.
Ally is thrilled to be returning as a second-year intern for the Riptide. She was the Public Address Announcer in the summer of 2021 and enjoyed her time in Orange County so much that she is returning as the Equipment Manager for the summer of 2022.
Sports have been a part of Ally’s life for as long as she can remember as her older brother, Jeremy, played baseball through college and her younger brother, Austin, has plans of playing in college as well. Her parents also were in the world of baseball as her father has been a coach since she was a child and her mother played softball all throughout her life.
She was born and raised in Mission Viejo, California to Dane and Julie Taylor. If she is not at the baseball field, you can find her sitting by the pool reading a book or painting on a canvas.

Wyatt Baptiste – Game Day Operations
Wyatt Baptiste joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 game-day operations team as a recent graduate of Westcliff University with a Bachelor of Business administration degree. He is now continuing his studies to achieve a Master’s of Business administration.
When looking forward to his career in the sports marketing world, Wyatt is excited to contribute his knowledge of marketing, advertising, social media, and sports to aid the success of the OC Riptide this upcoming summer season. During this summer Wyatt is looking to gather more knowledge of what it takes to work within a sports environment and learn key details on marketing and advertising techniques involved with sports as well as make relationships and learn from fellow co-workers. His interest in sports and especially baseball makes him excited to get the most out of this internship opportunity this summer.
Originally from Medford, Oregon Wyatt earned a scholarship and moved to Orange County to attend and play baseball at Westcliff University. During his time playing at Westcliff University, he won Male Athlete of the year in 2020 for his performance on the field. He has been on the dean’s list each of his three years at the university as well. Along with school and baseball, Wyatt has worked a job throughout college coaching kids’ sports camps.
He has been heavily involved with sports from a young age playing baseball, football, and basketball growing up and then deciding to continue baseball into college. When not playing sports Wyatt loves to watch them on TV and when he can be in attendance of them. Other free time activities he enjoys to do is spending time with family, traveling, and going to the beach.

Max Brett – Game Day Operations
Max Brett joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Gameday Operations team with a strong desire to work in sports & entertainment while gaining experience behind the scenes to create unforgettable events without diminishing the fans safety and ultimately their experience.
His goal for this internship is to sharpen his organizational and logistical skills while having an opportunity to develop skills with the game day.
Max has volunteered extensively for a variety of notable events including the Indianapolis 500, Division I March Madness, D3 Swimming & Diving Championships, Academy Awards, MLB All-Star Week and several conferences in the hospitality & event industry.
Max graduated Cum Laude from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management, an emphasis in Special Event Management where learning by doing and utilizing real world scenarios has been a staple of one of the most recognized leading global educational institutions.
Originally, from San Diego, California, Max is the son of South African parents, and has an older brother. Max has traveled to five continents honing essential skills such as navigation, time management, communication, visualizations, stress management, teamwork, organization, planning and adaptability.
This adventurous spirit likes to think out of the box and two adrenaline rushes that captivated him were bungee jumping from South Africa’s highest bridge, and diving with sharks. Brett also volunteered as a participant in the Moderna Covid-19 Phase III Clinical Trial. in addition to starting an event planning startup when the pandemic started.

Mikael Caballero – Game Day Operations
Mikael Caballero joins the OC Riptide game day operations team as a senior at Cal State University Fullerton. Mikael is a kinesiology major and hopes to become a chiropractor in the future. He also sees a life filled with sports after graduation. Mikael is currently the intramural lead at the Student Recreation Center (SRC) at his school. There, he runs all the intramural sports such as soccer, flag football, volleyball, basketball, and softball. He oversees all the officials, attendants, as well as the patrons. Mikael ensures their safety and is CPR certified.
Mikael grew up in Stockton CA, a city just an hour south of Sacramento. He is the youngest of three and was surrounded by sports growing up. His interest was sparked in baseball at just three years old when his parents found him picking up a baseball bat and swinging it. After that, his love for the game flourished. Mikael became a dual sport athlete, playing baseball and basketball all through high school. He hoped to share his knowledge and love for the game with others this summer.
In his free, time Mikael enjoys watching baseball, basketball, football, and other various college sports. He is excited to be around one of the things he cherished the most this summer: baseball!

Colin Craft – Game Day Operations
Colin Craft joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations staff as a senior at Arizona State University where he is majoring in sports business and minoring in Finance.
At Arizona State, Colin is an active member of the executive board for his fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi, where he holds the position of Secretary. He organizes and plans philanthropy events throughout the community in hopes of raising enough money to give back to the Feed My Starving Children organization.
This upcoming season, Colin aims to contribute his personable skills, knowledge, and work ethic to the OC Riptide staff to benefit the Game Day Operations team and the organization as a whole. He is also looking forward to working with other dedicated interns and staff members in hopes of gaining experience and making connections.
Colin became a sports fanatic at a very young age as he quickly fell in love with the San Francisco Giants. Being a current student at Arizona State, Colin has quickly become involved in all Sun Devil sports as he has taken part in the overly enthusiastic fan club, the 942 Crew. In his free time, he enjoys playing intramural sports, wake boarding on the lake, and spending time with his friends outdoors.

Trevor Davis – Game Day Operations
Trevor Davis joins the Orange County 2022 Ballpark Operations Staff with a desire to gain experience in the sports industry. He is currently a Senior at Texas Christian University majoring
in Economics and pursuing a minor in Psychology.
Trevor recently transferred to TCU in 2021, after attending Santa Barbara City College. At SBCC, Trevor played on the baseball team for three years, seeing time at shortstop and third
base. After his second and third season were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, he chose to pursue his interest in sports management. His love for all types of sports is what drives him to follow a career within the sports industry. He believes that the OC Riptide will provide him with the skills and confidence to be successful in his future endeavors within sports management.
Trevor was born in Irvine, California a couple of miles from Great Park Baseball Stadium. Therefore, he is a big fan of the Los Angeles Angels and Anaheim Ducks. In his free time, Trevor loves to play golf, run, snowboard, and rock climb. While he was at TCU, he was part of the TCU Club Golf Team. He is very grateful and excited to be a part of the OC Riptide internship team.

Catie Dobbs – Game Day Operations
Catie Dobbs is a senior at California Baptist University in Riverside, Calif. studying digital communications and media.
She grew up in Alpine, California, a town 35 miles east of downtown San Diego. She hopes to learn the in’s and outs of how a baseball team runs on game days outside of the chalk lines.
Prior to her transfer to California Baptist, she played college softball at Syracuse University for two seasons.
She hopes to work in professional sports, preferably baseball or hockey, doing either regional operations or public relations.

Mollie Dostalek – Game Day Operations
Mollie Dostalek joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations staff as a rising junior at the University of San Diego. In San Diego, Mollie is in the Honors Program and hopes to receive a double major in Business Administration and Finance. In Particular, she enjoys management and economics courses. While at school, she is also an active member in her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and works part time. Following her time with the Orange County Riptide, Mollie plans to study abroad in Madrid, Spain.
Growing up, Mollie could always be seen at the dinner table with the sports newspaper in hand. Coupled with years of soccer, she found an immediate love for athletics. Since then, her passion and enthusiasm has made sports management and marketing a career she is eager to learn more about from the Orange County Riptide. She also hopes to meet other like-minded individuals excited to understand more about the Orange County Riptide operations.

Alexandra Gierut – Game Day Operations
Alexandra Gierut joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations as a Graduate student at CSU Long Beach. Gierut is studying Sports Management and graduating in December. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies at CSU Northridge.
Gierut couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Orange County Riptide and is excited to work with colleagues in different departments. She hopes to gain skills, knowledge, wisdom, and advice in game day operations. Her career goal is working in facilities or operations management for either a college or professional team post-graduation.
Gierut was born in Riverside, CA and raised in Chino Hills, CA. She is the only deaf person in her family and uses ASL, American Sign Language. She is an advocate for the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and people with disabilities. During her free time, she enjoys watching tv and movies, playing video games, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, exploring new spots and walking her dog.

Naomi Hill – Game Day Operations
Naomi Hill joins the Orange County Riptide intern staff as an incoming senior at Hope International University. Naomi is a Sports Management major and is looking forward to working
with the Orange County Riptide again this summer.
She interned in Game Day Operations last summer and she loved it so much that she came back. Naomi hopes to work in Major League Baseball one day and has loved applying her passion for the game to the Orange County Riptide.
She was born and raised in Aliso Viejo, California and has one older brother. Naomi attended Crean Lutheran High School where she played softball. She now works at the Baseballism store at the Irvine Spectrum.
Naomi enjoys surfing in her free time outside of watching baseball. Her favorite team is the Los Angeles Angels, and she has been attending their games since she was born. Her grandpa has had season seats for the Angels since 1978, and he has passed down his love for the team to her. Her passion for the game really started when she was 11 years old, just around the time when Mike Trout broke into the majors. She spends her free time attending Angel games, meeting major league players, making connections in the baseball industry, and visiting stadiums across the country.
She has known since a young age that she wants to work in Major League Baseball, and hopes to be a General Manager one day.

Joshua Jernigan – Game Day Operations
Joshua Jernigan joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Staff as a Junior at Vanguard University of Southern California where he majors in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. As a student at Vanguard, Joshua has received high regard for his academics, earning himself the status of Honor Roll all of the semesters he has been studying.
When looking forward to his career in the sports industry, Joshua is extremely thrilled to be a part of the Orange County Riptide Staff this season. His passion for sports, ability to communicate, and being able to work with other team members is what makes him a great member of the team. Joshua’s future career goals include working for a professional sports organization in the realm of Operations and Management.
Joshua is originally from Sacramento, California where he has one brother, who is going to Western Oregon University to play baseball. Besides being a baseball fan, Joshua is a huge basketball fan as he has been a Sacramento Kings fan his entire life.
Some fun things to know about Joshua is that he works at Disneyland while away from working for the Riptide as an Attractions Operator and is a huge Star Wars fan.

Rhys Lewis – Game Day Operations
Rhys Lewis joins the OC Riptide 2022 Game Day operations staff as a senior at West Liberty University. He is a starting center back for their Men’s D2 soccer program. He is majoring in Sport Management and has a minor in Geography.
He was raised in Seattle but currently lives in Orange County. He became a massive sports fan of all of the Seattle teams, but mostly liked the Sounders because he is a huge soccer fan.
Rhys is also a fan of the Mariners and wants them to make the playoffs sometime this decade. He and his family are enthusiastic supporters of West Ham United who play in England.
Rhys is excited for his OC Riptide internship and hopes to use the knowledge that he learns here in his future career, with a potential hope of running his own team someday.

Josiah Ludwig – Game Day Operations
Josiah Ludwig joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations Staff as a junior at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) where he is studying Communications. On-campus, he works with the UCSB Baseball Team as a Director of Baseball Operations Intern & Social Media Manager. His main tasks are to live tweet for the UCSB Baseball Twitter, help produce content, and directly assist the Director of Baseball Operations.
Josiah has aspirations of working in sports management and is excited to learn through experiences from the OC Riptide.
Josiah grew up in Long Beach, California where he was exposed to the sports culture at a very young age. He has played baseball throughout his life and won the Moore League championship in his senior year at Long Beach Poly High School.
In his free time, Josiah loves to go to the beach, play board games, and hang out with friends. Josiah hopes to learn valuable skills in his time with the OC Riptide that will apply to future endeavors.

Jake Massar – Game Day Operations
Jake Massar joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Gameday Operations Staff as a Junior at San Diego State University in pursuit of a Business Management degree. On campus, Jake works as an intern with the SDSU Football Team and is a part of the Sports Business Initiative Club. As a student, Jake’s performance in his classes have put him on the Fowler College of Business Dean’s List in 2021 and 2022.
With the SDSU Football Team, Jake has assisted with numerous events such as the SDSU Pro Day, multiple community outreach events, and traveled with the team for the 2021 Frisco Bowl. He hopes to bring the skills that he has acquired with the team this past year to the OC Riptide to help build the best game day atmosphere for fans. He is extremely excited to learn more about the operations of a sports organization throughout the summer in this position.
Raised in Fullerton, he was a basketball, baseball, and football player which developed his love for sports. Watching countless college and professional baseball games with his family made him develop the desire to work within the sports industry.
Jake is excited to bring his passion for baseball to the stadium everyday and share his love for the game with others throughout the year. In his free time, he loves to go to the beach, read a book, or catch up with the latest movies.

Jack Perez – Game Day Operations
Jack Perez joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations Staff as a rising senior at the University of Southern California. He is majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Sport Media Industries. Jack is also a member of the USC Sports Business Association and is considering attending law school after graduation.
With the Riptide this summer, Jack hopes to gain hands on experience in the world of sports business and help the team succeed in every way he can. His goals for the season include building strong communication and teamwork skills as well learning the intricacies involved in operating a sports team. For the moment, Jack’s career aspirations are to secure to a job with the Los Angeles Dodgers after he graduates in 2023.
Raised in Orange County, Jack attended Mater Dei High School where he played baseball all four years. As the second of three brothers in a very sports-centric home, Jack has had a passion for baseball since a very young age that continues to inspire him to pursue a career in professional baseball. Fueled by the innate competitiveness within himself and between him and his brothers, Jack has always pushed himself to do his best work, and he is prepared to do so with the Riptide for the 2022 season.
In his free time, Jack enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and traveling. His family consists of older brother, Brandon; younger brother, Lucas; mother, Christa; and father, George.

Malia Perry – Game Day Operations
Malia Perry joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Game Day Operations staff as a fourth year student at Cal State Fullerton. She is majoring in Kinesiology.
Malia was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She is the youngest of 3 and has always been apart of the sports community. Growing up, one of her favorite things to do in summer was go to a Padres game. In high school she participated in volleyball, softball, and basketball until her junior year, when she ultimately decided to dedicate more time to her volleyball career.
On campus at CSUF, she currently serves as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Women’s Club Volleyball team. During school, she works at the Student Recreation Center under the Intramural Sports program as a scorekeeper for basketball, volleyball, flag football, and soccer. Alongside with this internship, Malia is also working at Camp Titan, a summer camp for children aged 4-18, as a Program Assistant.
Malia has an open mind in regards to her career path after college. After an internship at a Physical Therapy clinic this past semester, she learned she would much rather be involved in the world of sports management and entertainment and hopes to learn more about this career path through her time with OC Riptide. In her free time, Malia loves to spend quality time with her family and friends, listen to music, and travel.

Rilee Price – Game Day Operations
Rilee Price joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 staff as an upcoming senior at Pacific University Oregon. Rilee is majoring in Business with a marketing concentration, and minoring in Sport Leadership and Management. She has played three years of college basketball and looks forward to playing her senior year and possibly coming back for a fifth year.
Rilee was born and raised in Brea, Calif. She grew up playing sports such as softball, basketball, and swimming. When she entered high school at Brea Olinda, she focused on basketball and was a four year varsity player. Her freshman year her team won the Division 1 state title and continued to have good playoff runs throughout the rest of her high school years. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, and hanging out with friends.
Rilee looks forward to this opportunity with the O.C Riptides. She hopes to gain more insight on the behind the scenes of the sports world, and gain experience within the industry. She hopes to one day work for an NBA team, more specifically her favorite team, the Los Angeles Clippers.
