The enhanced OC Riptide fan experience is achievable only through the hard work and dedication from our internship staff. Covering numerous departments from Scoring / Analytics to Game Day Operations to Live Stream Broadcast to Sports Information to Social Media, the OC Riptide interns are the engine that make game days smooth and enjoyable for fans in the stands and those watching games online.

Scoring & Analytics Team
Scoring & Analytics staff members are tasked with keeping and reporting the correct scoring and statistics to the California Collegiate League while also gleaning and interpreting analytical data to be used by Riptide coaches.

Naomi Hill – Asst. GM, Head of Analytics & MLB Scout Liason
Naomi Hill returns to the Orange County Riptide staff as a recent graduate from Hope International University. She graduated a year early this spring with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Naomi has been an OC Riptide intern for the past two summers, and she is now coming back for one last season as the Assistant General Manager, Head of Analytics & MLB Scout Liason.
In 2023, she is tasked to oversee everything on the baseball operations side of things alongside General Manager Moe Geoghegan. She travels on all road games with the team and oversees all needs relating to the players and coaches. She also asssits in any area needed within the organization.
Naomi hopes to work in the baseball operations department of a Major League Baseball team for her career. She has loved applying her passion for and knowledge of the game to the Orange County Riptide.
Her favorite team is the Angels, and she has been attending their games since she was born. Her grandfather has had season seats for the Angels since 1978, and he has passed down his love for the team to her. Her passion for the game started when she was 11 years old, just around the time when Mike Trout broke into the majors. She spends her free time attending Angels games, meeting major league players, making connections in the baseball industry, and visiting stadiums across the country. She recently completed her journey of seeing all 30 MLB stadiums last season.
Naomi was born and raised in Aliso Viejo, California and has one older brother. She attended Crean Lutheran High School where she played softball. She enjoys surfing and going to the beach in her free time outside of watching baseball. She has known since a young age that she wants to work in Major League Baseball, and hopes to be a General Manager one day.

Ryan Chambliss – Scoring & Analytics
Ryan Chambliss is an incoming senior at The Ohio State University majoring in Sport Industry and minoring in Economics. He is an Orange County native and attended Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, Calif.
Ryan is a left-handed pitcher for Ohio State’s club baseball team and earned All-Region honors in 2022. He is an active member of OSU’s Association for the Business of Sport and Sports Analytics Club.
Ryan has previously worked in the Cape Cod Baseball League in video, and currently interns for Prep Baseball Report and Ohio State’s Athletic Department. His career goals are to work in scouting or baseball operations for an MLB franchise.
Ryan has been around baseball all his life and is ecstatic to bring his knowledge of the game to the Analytics team for the summer of 2023. He is eager to work with sabermetric data for elite college baseball players as well as put together advance reports on opponents for the team’s coaching staff.

Shane Foley – Scoring & Analytics
Shane Foley is a junior attending Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is majoring in Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics, along with obtaining a minor in Economics and Spanish. He is originally from Manhattan Beach, Calif.
At Lawrence, Shane is a pitcher on the baseball team and was on the staff when they won the 2022 Midwest Conference Championhip. He was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2023 and to the Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference team in 2022 & 2023. He was on the Dean’s List and is a National Merit Scholar.
Shane is looking forward to his first season working with the OC Riptide and sees this internship as an opportunity to gain the experience and skills necessary to help him reach his career goal of working as a data analyst for Major League Baseball.

Nolan Tanaka – Scoring & Analytics
Nolan Tanaka joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Baseball Analytics Staff as a junior at the University of California, Davis. Nolan is majoring in Statistics with an emphasis on Statistical Data Science. He grew up in Yorba Linda, Calif. and attended El Dorado High School.
Nolan grew up playing Little League baseball and has enjoyed watching and following the MLB ever since. He hopes that this internship wioth the OC Riptide can help him to pursue a career as a data scientist or statistician for a professional sports team. He is a big fan of the Los Angeles Angels and his dream job would be to become a statistician for their organization in the future.
In his free time, Nolan enjoys playing and watching sports, playing video games and spending time with his family and friends. Nolan is excited for the opportunity with the OC Riptide and is looking forward to gaining valuable experience in the sports statistics field.

Troy Winningham – Scoring & Analytics
Troy Winningham joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Baseball Analytics Staff as a sophomore at the University of South Carolina. He is majoring in Sport and Entertainment Management at the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management.
Troy is excited for his first year as an Orange County Riptide staff member. He is looking forward to expanding his knowledge of baseball analytics. He believes this opportunity will be exciting and will teach him skills he can use in the future. Troy’s career goal is to work his way up to the front office for a professional sports team.
Originally from Dana Point, Calif., Troy attended JSerra Catholic High School, where he also played baseball. In his free time, he enjoys going to the beach, spending time with friends and going to the gym. Troy has high hopes for the Riptide this season and looks forward to learning new things.

Team Equipment Managers
The Team Equipment Managers are tasked with ensuring all on-the-field equipment and uniforms are in proper working order and to ensure the players and coaches have all their equipment needs met. Team Managers also assist in the game day operation department when short staffed or on extremely busy nights.

Adam Blokdyk – Team Equipment Manager
Adam Blokdyk joins the Orange County Riptide intern staff as an incoming senior at Concordia University of Irvine. Adam is a Sports Business major and is looking forward to a great summer working with the Orange County Riptide.
Adam one day hopes to be a sports agent in the field of baseball or football. He was raised in Orange County, Calif. with a brother and a sister. Adam attended Esperanza High School in Anaheim, where he was varsity captain of the golf team.
When he is not working, he loves watching sports or golfing. His favorite baseball team is the Los Angeles Angels since the age of 5 years old. His favorite player Torii Hunter wrote back to him after writing a letter during the little league visit at an Angels game.
With the Riptide, he hopes to gain more of an insight of what goes on behind the scene when it comes to baseball.

Andy Espineira – Team Equipment Manager
Andy Espineira joins the OC Riptide 2023 Equipment Management staff as a rising sophomore at the University of Iowa where he is studying sports and recreation management with a minor in communications on the pre-law track.
Andy grew up watching sports since the day he was born whether it be Lakers games with his uncle watching “uncle Kobe” on TV or watching New York Yankees, New York Giants or San Francisco 49ers with his parents. Basketball has always been his favorite to watch, but he loves watching the big 3.
At the University of Iowa, Andy works for athletic facilities where he helps keep all the stadiums neat and tidy by moving certain things that need to be in place at the stadiums and help mainly during pre- and post-game of any game days that he is fortunate to work at like football, basketball, wresting, soccer, and track and field. He is also a part of the Hawkeye Sports Business Association which is a student-run club that helps students meet like-minded individuals that want to help students succeed in the world of sports.
Growing up in San Juan Capistrano, Andy has always been interested in sports. He attended Jserra Catholic High School where he played volleyball his freshman year and was the team manager for the basketball team his senior year. That experience gave him insight on daily practices, film, pre- and post-game, and dealing with equipment.
Andy is excited to be a part of the OC Riptide staff and is grateful for the opportunity. He is excited to gain new experiences in the field of sports that he has not explored yet while he is keeping his options open. Andy hopes to become a sports agent or work in the front office as a general manager but is open to any opportunity that the sports world has to offer.

Brendan Ikeda – Team Equipment Manager
Brendan Ikeda joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Equipment Management staff as an upcoming junior at UC Riverside. He is currently majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. He plans on pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree after graduation. Brendan grew up in Orange, Calif. and graduated from Villa Park High School where he played both baseball and basketball.
Sports have been a key part of Brendan’s life for as long as he can remember. He has always loved playing and watching sports with his friends and family. His favorite sports teams are the Los Angeles Angels and Lakers. In his free time, Brendan likes playing video games and hanging out with friends and family, including going to Angels games. He also enjoys going to the beach.
Brendan is excited to contribute as much as possible to the OC Riptide staff while gaining experience and knowledge about what it’s like to work in a sports environment. He’s looking forward to working with other interns and creating connections. He hopes that eventually he will be given the opportunity to work in a Major League front office.

Mason Fishel – Game Day Operations
Mason Fishel joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Gameday Operations Staff as an incoming Senior at Washington State University where he is studying Social Sciences with a focus on Business Administration and Communication. On campus, Mason works for the WSU Football Team in the Video Department and he is a director in a student-run television club called Cable 8.
With the WSU Football Team, Mason assists with filming practices and games for coaches and players to study. He has some experience traveling with the team throughout the 2022 football season including the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl and has worked the WSU Pro Day. He is excited to gain more experience in the sports industry with the OC Riptide Gameday Operations crew throughout the summer.
Mason was born in Mission Viejo, Calif. He grew up playing sports including baseball, basketball, and football which developed his love for sports. He attended high school at Trabuco Hills High School where he played football all four years. Watching collegiate and professional sports grew his desire to work in the sports industry.
This summer, Mason is also working as a Reservation Specialist for The Great Park in Irvine. In his free time, he loves to play guitar, hangout with friends and listen to music.

Lacey Hall – Game Day Operations
Lacey Hall joins the Orange County Riptide as a recent graduate from California State University, Northridge with a B.S. in Business Management and Honors in Business. In addition to graduating summa cum laude, Lacey was an NCAA Division 1 athlete on the Women’s Water Polo team. Lacey will be starting the MBA Program at California State University, Fullerton this fall and continuing her water polo career as a Titan.
In her undergraduate studies, Lacey developed her aptitude for sports leadership as the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, a sports communication intern for CSUN Athletics, and CSUN’s representative at the NCAA Career in Sports Leadership Forum. Lacey advocated for mental health awareness in student-athletes by initiating a chapter of The Hidden Opponent and serving as the club’s Vice President. To further her academic development, Lacey joined the prestigious Business Honors Program, where she served as the Vice President of Alumni Relations. Lacey graduated CSUN as the Dean’s Scholar for the College of Business and Economics, the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and CSUN’s nomination for NCAA Woman of the Year.
Lacey’s career aspiration is to work as a collegiate athletic director to give back to all of the positive experiences that she has had as a student-athlete. An Orange County native, Lacey is excited to use the opportunity with the Orange County Riptide to enrich her knowledge of college and professional athletics as she transitions into her graduate studies. Growing up playing sports has inspired Lacey to develop a passion for leaving a positive impact on the sports industry. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her friends and family.

Zach Harris – Game Day Operations
Zach Harris joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 gameday operations staff as a senior at the University of Arizona and will be graduating this upcoming winter. He is majoring in communication, while also working towards a minor in sports management.
Zach grew up in Huntington Beach, California, where he has spent the majority of his life. He hopes to work in the sports industry after graduation, preferably in the MLB, NFL, or NBA. Zach has always loved sports, and has been playing basketball from a very young age. In his free time, Zach enjoys watching sports, working out, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family. He also enjoys going to watch his favorite baseball team, The Los Angeles Angels, in the summertime.
Zach is very excited for this upcoming opportunity as an intern for the Riptide, and hopes that he will gain useful knowledge about the sports world around him as well as make lifelong connections in the sports industry.

Brendan Lawton – Game Day Operations
Brendan Lawton joins the Orange County Riptide intern staff as an incoming sophomore at Boise State University. Brendan is a Business Management Major with a minor in Communication and is looking forward to working with the Riptide this summer. Brendan hopes to work for a Major League Baseball team one day and wants to pursue these opportunities and learn from them.
Brendan was born in Orange, California and has been raised in Foothill Ranch, California his entire life with his younger sister. He has played baseball, basketball, soccer, and roller hockey since he was five years old and it has given him a great passion for sports and competition. He enjoys watching and attending both college and professional level sports. In high school, he joined the volleyball team and decided this would be the sport to focus on. Although, he developed a passion for volleyball, he never lost his interests in the other sports he enjoys.
Brendan is a huge Los Angeles Angels fan and has been going to games since he was born. Fun fact about Brendan was he was named after Brendan Donnelly who was a pitcher for the Angels from 2003-2006. Since Brendan was young, he has always wanted to work in the Major League Baseball field and hopes to work for the Angels one day.
In his free time, he loves to go to the beach, hang out with friends, enjoy baseball games, and play MLB the Show. One of Brendan’s goals is to attend all 30 MLB stadiums.

Sean Lomasney – Game Day Operations
Sean Lomasney joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Game Day Operations staff as a rising senior at the University of Missouri. He is majoring in Communications with a minor in Sales and Customer Service.
At Mizzou, Sean has had the opportunity to work for the campus sports radio station KCOU 88.7 FM. He has been a sideline reporter during the Missouri Women’s Basketball Season and worked as a half-time analyst during the Missouri Men’s Basketball Season. Sean has also been a part of Missouri’s premier short-form improv team, Comedy Wars, in which he will serve as President for the 2023-2024 school year.
He has spent his last three years at Mizzou as a Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity member as Recruitment Chair and a philanthropic organizer. He and his philanthropy committee worked to raise over $40,000 for the Ability Experience, a charity for people with disabilities.
Being from Chino Hills, CA, Sean found his love for sports through PA announcing for the Chino Hills High School Football and Basketball teams. In his free time, Sean enjoys attending Los Angeles Angels games, performing stand-up comedy, and creating clothing using graphic design.

Emily McGettigan – Game Day Operations
Emily McGettigan proudly joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Game Day Operations staff. As a rising junior at The Ohio State University, Emily is majoring in Sport Industry and pursuing a minor in Business.
On Campus, Emily is an active member of Delta Gamma sorority, where she chairs the Public Relations committee. Emily directs communications for upcoming events and promotes the sorority’s philanthropy with her position.
Emily was born and raised in Ladera Ranch, which is the place that fostered her initial love of sports. Growing up in Orange County, she witnessed firsthand how important sports can be to a community, ingraining in her an appreciation for the power of sports to connect people, create shared memories, and foster a strong sense of camaraderie. Emily grew up in a family of athletes and coaches that helped her develop a love for sports at a very young age. She ran cross country and track throughout high school, serving as team captain for both.
Working collaboratively with an organization to achieve common goals and gain valuable experience is something Emily looks forward to this summer, and she is excited to gain exposure in the sports industry. Emily is eager to begin her journey in the internship program with the Orange County Riptide and eventually hopes to be a sideline reporter in professional sports.

Alex Orellana – Game Day Operations
Alex Orellana joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Game Day Operations Staff as a senior at California State University, San Bernardino. Alex is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports & Entertainment Marketing. He is also a member of the Latino Business Students Association on campus. He works part-time with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes baseball team where he is part of the game day staff working in the ticket office.
Alex was born in Huntington Park,Calif., and later moved to Moreno Valley, CA when he was in the third grade. He is the youngest in his family and has one brother and two sisters. His passion for sports began at a young age. He started playing soccer in AYSO and continued to play throughout his life. Alex also loves playing basketball and has great memories of playing in school growing up as well as competing against his friends and family. His favorite teams consist of the LA Galaxy and the Los Angeles Lakers.
In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, watching soccer and basketball, going to LA Galaxy games, and hanging out with friends and family. Alex is excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the OC Riptide Staff. With this internship, Alex hopes to gain hands-on experience and learn the necessary skills to thrive in the sports industry. Alex’s future career goals consist of working for a professional organization in an operations or marketing role.

Nolan Ornelas – Game Day Operations
Nolan Ornelas joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 gameday-operations team as a fourth-year student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Nolan is currently majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media and minoring in Communications.
At the University of Tennessee, Nolan is an active member of the Fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta, where he serves on the Risk and Dangers Committee, along with Community Service.
This upcoming season, Nolan plans to utilize his skills, work ethic, and cooperativeness to the gameday operations team. He is most looking forward to the great experience of working for the OC Riptide and getting to work with the other interns.
Nolan was born in Long Beach, Calif. and has always had a passion for sports, especially baseball. He played baseball all his life up until his freshman year at Cypress College. He then transferred to Tennessee in the spring of 2022. In his free time, he loves spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and all things baseball.

Chloe Savard – Game Day Operations
Chloe Savard joins the Orange County Riptide Game Day Operations Staff as a senior at The Ohio State University. She is graduating in December 2023 with a BSE in Sports Industry and a minor in Nonprofit Management. Following graduation, she hopes to use the skills and information gained throughout her time with the Riptide to explore full-time opportunities working in Sports Operations and Management.
Chloe developed her passion for working in the sports industry through playing soccer and watching sports as a means to bond with her younger brother. It is through her everyday interactions with athletics that she realized her passion for athlete advocacy and enhancing the fan experience. She hopes to advance player safety initiatives and promote the growth of sports within smaller markets throughout her career.
Chloe grew up in Franklin, Wisconsin, but has lived in Irvine, Calif. since 2013. Her favorite teams are all things Wisconsin including the Brewers, Bucks, and Packers- as well as the Toronto Maple Leafs. As far as soccer goes, Chloe is a dual citizen of the US and Belgium, and she cheers for both the United States and Belgium during the World Cup.

Dillin Siembieda – Game Day Operations
Dillin Siembieda joins the OC Riptide 2023 Game Day Operations department as a sophomore at the University of Oregon. Dillin is majoring in Business with a concentration in Sports Business and a minor in Spanish. Dillin wuld like to one day to become a professional soccer coach.
The University of Oregon has presented many opportunities to Dillin. The opportunities that he has taken is joining the student manager staff for the women’s soccer team. Dillin is a big fan of baseball, his favorite team to watch is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He also enjoys football, basketball, soccer, cross country and track and field. For as long as he can remember, he has been involved in sports and wanted to try to continue to play in college. But he knew that the opportunity to play in college was limited. So, he decided that he wants to help players improve and become the best version of themselves possible. That is where coaching came into the picture.
He has grown up in the Orange County area. He loves the outdoors, so a few of his favorite places to go and relax are the beach and the park. He surfs at the beach when he can and at the park he loves to go for walks or bike rides. The community that he has grown up in is a very supporting and accepting one. Dillin’s family is full of athletes that played multiple sports in high school and a little bit of college sports as well. The friends he also grew up around were very athletic as well. He played soccer for two years in high school, he also ran cross country and track and field as well.
A saying that sticks close to him is “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail” – John Wooden. A value that he keeps close to himself is the sense of community and family. Dillin has a huge passion for helping people reach their potential, and this is a way for him to show that. He is eager to work for the OC Riptide and show his passion for sports and a community.

Nicole Vuncanon – Game Day Operations
Nicole Vuncanon joins the Orange County Riptide 2023 Game Day Operations staff as a rising senior at the University of New Hampshire. She is studying Communications with a minor in Sport Management. At the University of New Hampshire, Nicole is an intern for their D1 football program as a recruiting assistant and social media coordinator. She travels with the team to capture content on the road, chart plays, and breakdown film. Nicole is also involved in the Sports Careers Club and an active member of her sorority, Alpha Phi.
Growing up in Huntington Beach, Calif., Nicole has been a sports fan for as long as she can remember. She played a number of sports throughout her life from soccer and softball, to flag football and swimming. Combining her love of Social Media with the sports industry has been a dream come true, and she hopes to continue this career path post-graduation. Through working with the Orange County Riptide, Nicole aims to extend her experience into other aspects of the sports industry and connect with others who share similar interests. By working collaboratively in a team setting, she looks forward to networking and learning more about game day operations in a hands-on environment.
In the future, Nicole aspires to work for a professional sports league or team, as she has found a passion for working in the sports industry.
