Tim Brown – Member At-Large

Tim Brown joined the OC Riptide organization originally as an assistant coach in 2019 and was promoted to Associate head coach / Assistant General Manager in 2020. Tim Brown joined the OC Riptide Board of Directors in 2020. Brown is a Full Professor in the Department of English and Media Studies at Riverside City College. He is also the Principal of Tim Brown and associates, a firm of educational consultants specializing in basic skills, ERP end-user training and program assessment.

Tim Brown’s coaching resume is long and distinguished and was most recently the Head Baseball Coach at RCC. Brown spent six years as the Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at UC Santa Barbara. During the summer of 1982 and while at UCSB, Brown was appointed by the USA Baseball to assist the Federación Ecuatoriana de Béisbol developing and promoting youth baseball. He traveled throughout the South American country conducting baseball skills clinics for youth baseball coaches. While in residence in Guayaquil, Brown also trained both players and coaches for the Ecuadorian Pan American and National Baseball teams. Prior to UCSB, Brown was a Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach at University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley (formerly Pan America University) under the tutelage of legendary Coach Al Ogletree, a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. While at PAU, Brown coached the outfielders and assisted with recruiting.

Brown has also coached collegiate summer baseball across North America including the Cape Cod League (Hyannis Harbor Hawks), the New England Collegiate Baseball League (Vermont Mountaineers), Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League (Lake Erie Monarchs ) and most recently, the Kelowna B.C Falcons of the West Coast League. Brown holds a B.A. Sec. Ed. from Arizona State University, a M.Ed. from UT Rio Grande Valley, a M.S. from California State Fullerton, and an Ed.D. from Pepperdine University. He currently resides in Newport Beach.

Ernie Diaz – Member At-Large

Ernie Diaz has experience tremendous success in business and in baseball. Currently as a technology sales executive experienced in the consumer electronics industry, Diaz joined the Orange County Board of Directors in 2020. His knowledge of the business world combined with his residency within the Great Park in Irvine, Calif., makes him a tremendous asset to the Board of Directors.

Diaz understands the challenges and rewards of being a college baseball player, lessons learned while a player himself. Diaz played Division I collegiate baseball for one of the most storied college baseball programs in America, the University of Southern California Trojans. Diaz played in the 1995 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska where the Trojans were the runner-up.

In addition to playing in Omaha, Diaz was a participant in the National Baseball Conference (NBC) World Series four times as either a player or coach with the Topeka Capitals (1994), Santa Maria Indians (1995) Orange County Scorpions (1999, 2000). Diaz served as the Orange County Riptide President and General Manager from 2015-2018.

Diaz currently resides in Irvine, California and has an 8-year-old daughter.

David Lamm – President

David Lamm currently serves two roles for the Orange County Riptide; Director of Baseball Operations and President of the Board of Directors. His involvement with the Orange County Riptide started in 2018 when he and his wife hosted an Orange County Riptide player. That positive experience prompted him to become more involved with the OC Riptide Baseball Club. An avid college baseball fan since his days as a collegiate undergraduate, Lamm joined the Board of Directors in 2020.

Working in a number of career fields since earning his Bachelor degrees from Cal State Fullerton (1994) and the University of Oklahoma (1997), Lamm has worked as the News/Sports Director for KOKL radio in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Media Relations Manager for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), Golf Editor for Crittenden Research, Director of Operations/Marketing/PR for 24-7 Internet, Inc. and in Auto Sales for Claremont Hyundai and Ontario Hyundai. Lamm is an entrepreneur and a business owner, creating websites, e-commerce sites and a mobile app that services sports fans. He also works as a high school football official and high school baseball umpire when not working for the OC Riptide.

Lamm has attended the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska twice (2007 & 2015) and enjoys all types of sports with college baseball and college football his two favorites. Lamm considers himself to be an avid griller/smoker and enjoys outdoor cooking and sharing it with others, especially when hosting college baseball players. Lamm and his wife Jessica live in Yorba Linda, Calif. and David has two children, Avery and Ryder, from his previous marriage. He and Jessica expect to host many more OC Riptide players in the future.

Harry Stahl – Member At-Large

Harry Stahl is a corporate attorney who has practiced law in Orange County for over 40 years. He has been a senior corporate partner in national and international law firms and currently has his own firm in Irvine, Calif. He has received the highest possible rating of AV from Martindale Hubbell for legal ability and ethics, which places him in the top 1% of attorneys in the nation.

Harry has been actively involved with Orange County non-profit organizations for many years. Among those organizations is the Orange County Food Bank, where he was on the Board of Directors for 10 years and served as the President for two years. For the past 25 years he has been on the Board of Directors of Project Independence, which promotes civil rights for people with developmental disabilities. Harry is a Vietnam Era Veteran (U.S. Army) and is a member of American Legion Post 291 in Newport Beach, Calif.

Harry and his wife Susan, have lived in Irvine since 1974 and raised their two children there. Their son, Ethan, was an all-city high school baseball player and played college baseball at Santa Barbara City College.
