During the California Collegiate League fall meeting, the CCL Board members voted to expand the league and invited three teams to join. The CCL expanded to include the Lincoln Potters, Solano Mudcats and the Walnut Creek Crawdads.

All three teams join the Healdsburg Prune Packers, already a CCL member, to form the CCL North Conference. Both the Lincoln Potters and the Solano Mudcats competed in 2019 as affiliate members of the CCL.

The CCL North Conference will have four teams with eyes on expanding to six in 2021. The CCL South Conference consists of six teams: Arroyo Seco Saints, Conejo Oaks, MLB Academy Barons, Orange County Riptide, San Luis Obispo Blues and Santa Barbara Foresters

The CCL South Conference now has two divisions; the Central Division and the South Division. Central Division teams are: Conejo Oaks, San Luis Obispo Blues and Santa Barbara Foresters. The South Division teams are: Arroyo Seco Saints, MLB Academy Barons and Orange County Riptide.

The exact 2020 CCL Playoff format has not been determined yet but will include the CCL Conferences determining a champion of the North and the South to meet in early August to determine the CCL State Champion. The location of the Conference and State playoffs will be announced at a later date.
