Meet the 2022 Sales & Marketing Interns for the OC Riptide

The Orange County Riptide is proud to have a skilled and talented group of sales and marketing interns helping to advance our goals. Simply put, we want everyone in Orange County to know who we are, what we do, where we play and what a great experience it is to become involved with the OC Riptide either as a fan, a sponsor, a host family or even a player. Meet the intern staff that will help advance those goals in 2022.

 

Katrina Anderson
Katrina Anderson

Katrina Anderson

Katrina Anderson joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff as a sophomore at Southern Methodist University. She is a double major in Public Relations and Strategic Communications along with Applied Physiology and Sport Management.

Her family’s love of Notre Dame football is one of Katrina’s greatest influences; after traveling to watch the Fighting Irish play Navy in Ireland, Katrina knew she had to work in sports. At SMU Katrina is a member of the SMU Simmons School of Sport Management social media team which posts updates on events, alumni, faculty, and athletics.

Raised in Orange County, Katrina is well acquainted in the community and excited to work with the OC Riptide on community outreach. She hopes to engage the community with the team, letting families know about games, summer camps and more. Through this, she hopes to further develop her digital marketing and public relations skills in a professional setting. Katrina eventually hopes to pursue a career in public relations and crisis management within professional sports.

Arianna Costello
Arianna Costello

Arianna Costello

Arianna Costello joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff as a senior at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Costello is a Sport Management major pursuing minors in both Business Administration and Public Relations. On campus, she is the social media and travel director for the University of Tennessee Club Softball team in addition to playing for the team. Additionally, she serves on the event and recruitment committee for Pi Beta Phi sorority and Vols Against Cancer, where she helps to plan and promote various events and activities to the campus population.

Before joining the Orange County Riptide team, Arianna was a Tournament Operations Intern for The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, TN. There, she oversaw all field operations, served as a PA announcer, and assisted in sales within the retail and food and beverage units, and with event programming for week-long youth baseball tournaments. Costello also had the opportunity to work with Tennessee Athletics Hospitality as premium seating host and attendant.

Costello was born and raised in Woolwich, NJ, a suburb just outside of Philadelphia, PA. She is the oldest daughter of two and was raised in a very active environment. Throughout her childhood, she was a softball, field hockey, basketball, and soccer player. Thus, developing her love for sports. Both her and her sister had a narrow focus on softball, playing the sport year round for multiple travel organizations. Watching and playing provided an intense passion for the sport of softball and baseball and the surrounding environment and culture. Costello is eager to
jump at the opportunity to promote and share the love of the game with others.

In her free time, she enjoys cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Olivia Guo
Olivia Guo

Olivia Guo

Olivia Guo joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff with a desire to gain experience in marketing and finance. She is currently a Freshman at Pepperdine University majoring in Economics and hopes to pursue a double major in Computer Science. Olivia hopes to use the tools of economics she has learned thus far in real-world applications with OC Riptide. Additionally, she has a great interest in a data-driven career path and aims to learn more about sales through this position. Olivia’s main focus will be securing sponsorship partners for the OC Riptide.

At Pepperdine, Olivia is a member of the communications committee in the Accounting Society, where she interviews and writes for the organization’s newsletter. In addition, she contributes to the school community and pushes for healthier living on campus through the Student Government Association as a Student Health & Committee member.

In her free time, Olivia loves to sketch, play golf, and listen to music. In addition, she devotes a lot of time designing for and running the enamel pin business she started with her sister.

Angel Lizarraga
Angel Lizarraga

Angel Lizarraga

Angel Lizarraga joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff as a Senior at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) in pursuit of a Business Administration degree with a Management concentration. Angel has been both a full-time diesel mechanic and a full-time student since he graduated high school. As a student at CSUSB, Angel’s performance in his courses has earned him a spot on the Dean’s List every semester after his transfer from community college to university.

Angel is grateful for this opportunity and is enthusiastic to be an effective member of the OC Riptide’s marketing team. Angel has prior marketing experience with the Raincross Boxing Academy located in Riverside, CA. Angel’s passion for the sports and entertainment industry fuels his interest in getting the most out of this internship opportunity.

Born in Mexico and raised in California, Angel became accustomed to the sports culture throughout his childhood with many professional athletes serving as role models. He attended many professional sporting events as a child and still does to this day when given the chance.

In his free time, Angel enjoys watching sports, reading a book, playing video games, riding his bike, and spending time with family. Angel is excited to be part of this internship and is
looking forward to expanding his marketing skills.

Ali Ramey
Ali Ramey

Ali Ramey

Ali Ramey joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing staff as a senior at Auburn University where she is studying Public Relations.

When looking forward to her career in the business and public relations world following graduation, Ali is excited to contribute her knowledge of marketing, advertising, social media and sports in order to aid the success of the OC Riptide this upcoming season. During her time working with this organization, Ali is looking forward to gaining experience by working with current marketing techniques alongside successful marketing professionals.

Ali is originally from a town just outside of Atlanta, Georgia where she grew up the oldest daughter of Meg and Brad Ramey alongside her younger sister. Growing up, she was constantly surrounded by sports; she was involved with cheer leading for 10 years and a swimmer for six. During her time with sports, Ali was able to learn the importance of being a part of a team and how to be a good leader.

Being from Georgia and by attending Auburn, Ali is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, as well as Auburn’s football and basketball team.

Britney Tempelton

Britney Tempelton

Britney Tempelton joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff as a senior at Chapman University. She is majoring in Strategic and Corporate Communication with an emphasis in Law and Social Control. Prior to Chapman University, she spent two years attending Moorpark College, where she earned her associates of arts degree for transfer in communication studies. She was also part of the communication club on campus and an active member of the speech and debate team.

At Chapman, she is part of the communication honors society, Lambda Pi Eta, and helped found the Trailblazer Program, a peer-driven initiative to help provide support and resources to first-generation college students within the school of communication. She hopes to bring skills that she learned during the trailblazer campaign into her role as a marketing intern for the OC Riptide.

She is excited to apply her knowledge of advertising and marketing to the sports world in order to promote the upcoming baseball season. Britney grew up in the northern Los Angeles area with her mother and older sister who are both avid baseball fans. Bretney developed a love for the sport early on and even played softball for several years in her childhood. She is incredibly excited to learn more about strategic marketing within the sports industry.

In her free time, she loves to kick box, hang out with family and paint.

Audrey Vermeulen
Audrey Vermeulen

Audrey Vermeulen

Audrey Vermeulen joins the Orange County Riptide 2022 Marketing Staff as a third year student at Biola University. Vermeulen is a Public Relations major with an emphasis in Digital Management and Social Media and a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies.

Vermeulen is thrilled to be part of the OC Riptide Marketing team and could not be more excited for the experiences and wisdom she is going to gain from the internship. Leading up to being an Intern for OC Riptide, Vermeulen had interned at PO3 Agency as their Public Relations Intern. She focused specifically on content creation for multiple clients who are under the consultation of
PO3 Agency. During this time, she learned how to target different demographics, display information in a new and entertaining way, while also being original to each client’s aesthetic and brand.

With sports being an avid part of Vermeulen’s life, the thought of leaving the competitive atmosphere and drive was something that she could not part with. Vermeulen is a member of the Women’s Swim and Dive team for Biola University for the past three years she has attended the institution. Through her determination and attitude of tackling projects, sports will always hold a special place for Vermeulen.

She was born and raised in Portage, Michigan to Mark and Kristin Vermeulen. When she is not in the pool or with family, you can find her down along the coast with friends enjoying what Southern California has to offer.
