Caleb Kilian drafted 8th Round – San Francisco Giants

Kilian, member of the 2017 OC Riptide, finished the summer posting a 3.79 ERA after appearing in six games. Kilian won 3 and lost 1 with 19 total innings pitched for the riptide in 2017. Opponents batted a paltry .236 when facing Kilian and he struck out 28 batters during his time in Orange County.

Kilian returned to Texas Tech and was selected in the 8th round by the San Francisco Giants in the 2019 draft. Kilian was the first pitcher selected by the Giants that year.

Kilian signed for $400,000, more than double the No. 236 pick slot valued at $176,300.
