The Orange County Riptide is starting up four travel ball teams for the Fall session going from August through December. Four teams ranging from 9U – 12U will compete under the OC Riptide name.
Try outs for this exclusive opportunity to be associated with Orange County’s premier collegiate baseball club will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023 and Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5 pm – 7 pm. August 7th session will be held at the Great park in Irvine and the August 11th session will take place at the Old Majors Field San Juan Capistrano.
Answers to some frequently asked questions are below:
When does the season start and how long will it go?
It starts the week of August 21 and ends in late January. An estimated 20 games are expected and that includes five tournaments. Most tournaments will be in Orange County and close surrounding communities. Expect on to play on average one tournament per month
What about practices?
Expect two to three practice per week (1 at indoor facility The Clubhouse in Costa Mesa) Practice locations are TBD but will be in the cities of Irvine, Lake Forest and San Juan Capistrano.
What is the goal of the Riptide youth Academy teams?
This team is about developing your child to improve their skill level heading into next spring season.
Who will be coaching and giving instruction?
Orange County Riptide college coaching staff will be the coaches. Each team will have two coaches for the season.
Can kids from outside of Irvine / Lake Forest / San Juan Capistrano be on the team?
Yes. We encourage players from all over Orange County to join our Academy team.
Any additional benefits I should know about?
Each player will be able to participate in the end of season weekend skills camp that will be open to the public.
Pricing
Rate for team is $375 per month
Payment will be billed each month August-January (6 months)
This rate includes all games and tournaments.
Other costs include each player will need to purchase a team uniform/gear package.
